The intention
A long view of the land.
Tucked into a wooded valley just outside Aledo, Valley Farm sits in the Cross Timbers—the band of post oak woodland that once stretched across North Texas and is disappearing to development across Parker County.
The Ancient Cross Timbers Consortium has visited the property to study its trees, some of which may predate Texas statehood. Its findings are pending.
Valley Farm was restored with a long view: keep the landscape connected and give it an active life. Today that means a renewed home, trails and room to ride, walk and bike beneath the canopy.
In time, a very limited number of private homesites may be offered by invitation, with shared access to the horse facilities and trail network—each placed around the trees rather than in place of them.
Preservation here is not about closing the gate. It is about sharing the land carefully enough that its character endures.
“Keep the land open. Give it purpose. Let it remain part of Aledo.”
